Sony India has unveiled an innovative product line up with 22 digital high end cameras to the Indian market. In order to seal its position as the numero uno prototype in the compact camera segment, the brand has come out with its H, S, T and W series of Cyber Shot cameras to allure the camera connoisseurs of the country.

Equipped with revolutionary technologies like ‘Sweep Panorama’ and High Defination (HD) movie, the camera are enhanced with its 14 mega pixel resolution feature to produce sharper and clear pictures. The Sweep Panorama technology will capture the ultra-wide pictures with a huge frame of 270 degrees, as one sweep the lens from sideways or top to bottom. Earlier this week, luxury Mobile giants, Vertu announced the release of three new editions to the Vertu stable of handcrafted, Ferrari branded, mobile phones. No, it’s not a car. It’s not even a car accessory. In fact it’s about an infinite light year away from anything gotta do with automobiles. What then, is the Porsche P’9521, Hold your breath ladies and gentlemen….. cos it’s a PHONE!!!

The German stalwart in design and creativity, Porsche Design Group and the French-based Sagem Mobiles (Safran Group) presented the first Porsche Design Mobile Phone, the P'9521, at the Porsche Centre Mumbai. The P'9521 was unveiled at the Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore. The first photos had revealed a squarish flip-phone design, integrated camera, and multimedia player.

Arbaaz Khan, Upen Patel & Kim Sharma were the first to be gifted the Porsche Design Mobile phone P'9521.

The new mobile phone combines state of the art, purist design with high-quality natural materials such as aluminum and mineral glass. Crafted out of sturdy aluminum and mineral glass, the Porsche P'9521 isn't for the faint hearted, weighing 137g and measuring a somewhat chunky 47mm wide, 90mm tall and 18mm deep.

Inside, this phone packs enough features to scare off any other car-inspired phones -- including a fingerprint reader, which doubles up as touch-sensitive scroll interface for navigating through the menu or your pictures.

On its derriere, the Porsche P'9521 sports a 3.2-megapixel camera with auto-focus and dual LED photo lights. You can spin the P'9521's screen to a whole 180 degrees as you would with a tablet laptop and use the larger main screen as a viewfinder.

Another noteworthy feature is the built-in accelerometer, which lets the phone know which way you're holding it up and changes pictures from portrait to landscape mode automatically, while they reorient themselves so that they are always appearing straight side up to you. Quite similar to the iPhone.

Added accessories include a headphone adaptor to listen to music or make hands-free calls. There's also a 2GB microSD card to house all those pictures you kept finding space for.

Impressive for sure, but comes with a whole-in-the-pocket price. For the handset alone, you'll have to flush out £800 or 77,000/- INR. The official distributor for the P'9521 in India is Pratam Telecom.

When it comes to mobile phones there are 3 classes. You have your mass market, which is the largest segment. It's what most people have. Then you have your tech market with devices like the HTC Diamond and iPhone. This class tends to innovate and push technology forward. Finally, you have your luxe class, such as the case with the new Dior Black Diamond phone.

The French fashion house Christian Dior will unveil a line of diamond mobile phones -- priced from €3,500, or $5,000, and up. The Dior Black Diamond Phone is a super luxury edition of their new handset, which is embedded with diamonds on the phone’s hinge and circular dial inside. It will also be available in a variety of colours.

Video games aren't just for the kids anymore. More than one in three adults who go online own a video game console and 16 per cent own a portable gaming device, Nielsen/NetRatings said today. The majority of those console owners, 71 per cent, are married, and 66 per cent have at least one child in the household. Here's a brief look at the phenomena with Rajat Raina, supermodel and self–confessed gamer. "Gaming is very involved whether it is a sport, action or strategy game, and most people take them seriously. The games have evolved, particularly the play stations. So it is almost like handling a gadget. The games themselves are like interactive movies. It is better than watching a film in the same time span though you are more involved. And it improves your hand and eye coordination too," says Rajat. When the sight of a flesh-eating zombie gorging on his latest victim is the most entertaining aspect of a game, I begin to wonder if the virtual world of gaming has not gone too far over the edge. "I am currently playing Gears of War; it is an action game … a first person shooter game … and the best thing about it is it can be played as a multiplayer game, and it is stress relieving," he grins. I have a burning question, which I just have to ask Rajat: X-Box or Playstation 3? "I would recommend the X-Box 360; the graphics are ten times better then the older version, and keeping in mind the price, it is great. The Sony Playstation 3 has not caught on perhaps because they were a bit slow in the launch." According to him, the hottest games on the shelves right now are FIFA and NBA in the sports section; Gears of War in the action zone; Need for Speed- Carbon and Fight Night in the combat zone. Are there any new games in the market that gamers should look forward to, I persist? "I am eagerly waiting for Halo 3, the X-Box series. Halo 1 and 2 were the highest selling games in the X-Box series. The previews look fantastic and I cannot wait to play it," he enthused.

"Gadgets! Gadgets! Gadgets! I have always been a gadget freak. When I was young, I used to get excited when I got fancy toys on my birthdays. One of the coolest toys I ever got was a remote-controlled Ferrari which had four gears and was huge. My aunt got it from the US; its still in my cupboard and it does work! Then came video games; the first one I got after a lot of cribbing was Samurai by Nintendo, and it still works. My second was Nintendo 64; since, technology changed and good graphics came in the market. Now of course the market is flooded with Playstation2 and XBOX. My eyes are set on XBOX 360 and I will be buying it soon! It is priced at app. Rs. 26,000 but I will buy it on monthly installments; that is how I buy my gadgets: its easier and smarter. Well, I have some friends who are married and settled in Mumbai; when I shifted there and started spending time with her four-year-old son, I was amazed at the kind of toys he has; it just freaked me out and I spent hours playing with them. Right from electronic motorbikes with fancy helmets to electric cars worth Rs. 15000, he had them all. I thought of the toys I had when I was a kid and compared my little Tobu Cycle with his fabulous black bike with alloy wheels, and was speechless. Technology has changed so much! There are certain things that have become a necessity for me, particularly my mobile phones which are very basic. I bought expensive phones earlier and lost them or they got spoiled, so I stopped spending on them; I'm using a Nokia 8250 which was my standby phone but has never given me a problem till date, and also a basic Motorola handset. My friends and sisters keep asking me to change my handsets but till the time they are solving my purpose of making calls and answering them, its all good. For me, phones should be simple; I have seen fancy phones getting spoiled as there are so many features in them. By the end of it, the handsets start to hang. For taking pictures, I have a digital camera by Kodak! These days, phones come with music players but I prefer an Ipod. I am using my sisters' 4GB Ipod these days but will buy one soon. I also use a Palmtop by Sharp occasionally. Lastly, I am a games freak! I spend hours playing games on my computer. I have a good collection but these days I've been gaming online. There are some gaming sites which I am addicted to like www.puffgames.com and www.stickcricket.com; they have the best graphics online. You know, women say men and gadgets go hand in hand; I agree with that but not completely! I've seen women with really fancy gadgets, right from pink phones to Ipods! But with such advanced technology in the market it is easy to get tempted. To be honest, I get tempted very easily … and the installments scheme has been very helpful."

Apple just announced the .16-inch thin MacBook Air -- a laptop so thin it fits in a mail an envelope. The new machine features a full-size keyboard and LED-backlit 13.3-inch display with built-in iSight, and the new larger trackpad supports multi-touch gestures. Just like the iPhone, you will be able to pan around, pinch to zoom, and rotate with two fingers, and move windows with a flick. The Air eschews optical media and Apple's also announced a feature called Remote Disk that'll let the Air get data off the optical drive in any PC or Mac running the Remote Disk software.

GoldVish “Le Million”

A PR stunt it may be, and they surely cannot be expecting to sell any, but the Goldvish “Le million” is officially the most expensive mobile phone in the world, according the Guiness Books of Records. There has even been talk of a $1.3million phone, but this has fewer diamonds than the Goldvish so one cannot see where the extra expense comes from! The “Le million” is a one off, featuring a blinding 120 carats worth of VVS-1 grade diamonds, according to designer Emmanuel Gueit. The Geneva-based Goldvish also offer several other diamond-encrusted 18k gold models in your choice of rose, yellow, or white.

Mobiado Professional EM (wood)

The Mobiado Professional EM, is a wood-clad upgrade of their earlier Nokia-based phone that includes a 1.3 megapixel camera, music player, FM radio, Bluetooth, and according to Mobiado it’s the first production phone with Titanium buttons. Only 200 are being made and each one has its limited number engraved on the back.

Sony Handycam HDR-CX7

Sony’s designers definitely made the most of the fact that the HDR-CX7 records its video to Memory Stick Pro Duo cards. The camcorder is little more than a lens and LCD screen in terms of size, though that is both a positive and negative thing. Sure, you can fit the CX7 into almost any bag, and even a large jacket or sweatshirt pocket, but the ergonomics of the grip are a little off.

Ipod Touch

The new flagship iPod has "the same size screen as the iPhone, but it's even thinner" (eight-millimeters, for those taking notes), and it touts the "same multi-touch interface" found on the firm's handset. Additionally, it boasts a 3.5-inch widescreen display, the ability to "flick through your photos," and you even get the "slide to unlock" feature, too. Of note, the built-in wireless antenna is not exactly attractive, but if it means that we can surf the web and buy tunes on our iPod, we suppose it may be an acceptable flaw.
